The Caterpillar 312E Hydraulic Excavator was introduced in 2012. The new 13.6tonne 312E small crawler excavator replaces the 312D and is powered by a Caterpillar C4.4 ACERT™ Engine which meets U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Tier 4 Interim emission standards and EU Stage IIIB emissions standards and produces 94hp.

The 312E are given an PZL (E version) or MJD (EL version) serial number prefix.

Caterpillar has the 312E(L) built with several new fuel-saving and comfort-enabling features and benefits that will delight both owners and operators.
