The Caterpillar 725 ADT in 1:50th scale was released by Norscot in 2004 with #55073.

The level of detail on the model is resonable. The front grill has work lights with painted lenses along with the Caterpillar name across the front grill. The cab has a nice looking interior.

But the model Caterpillar 725 has sadly too thick plastic safety rails and mirrors. The rubber tyres have a well defined tread pattern but unfortunaly the wheels are made of plastic. The functional articulated steering uses hydraulic cylinders for a little extra realism. The dump bed can be tipped to a reasonable angle and black painted metal mud guards have been cast on the bed which is a nice addition.

The rear wheels are mounted to a pivoting suspension bar which is another nice touch, demonstrating the suspension system on the full sized truck. The paint finish is very good with accurate placement of the Caterpillar markings.
