The Caterpillar D4G LGP Dozer in 1:48th scale was in 2005 released by CCM.

Released by Classic Construction Models 2005 is the Caterpillar D4G LGP Track-Type Tractor in a limited edition from a total 300 pieces in the “Precise 1:48 scale Brass construction” series.

CCM made two different versions:

All models are piece by piece hand crafted from Brass in 1:48th scale. The scale model is packaged in a deluxe gift box and comes with a signed certificate. I'm the happy collector with #195 in his "D4" Track-Type Tractor Series.

Caterpillar D4G LGP Track-Type Tractor

The Caterpillar D4G (LGP) Track-Type Tractor was introduced in 2001 as the replacement for the Caterpillar D4E.

The D4G has a 3064 engine producing 80 flywheel horsepower (FWHP). It comes standard with sealed and lubricated tracks (SALT).

It is available in two configurations: the standard model has a track gauge of 59 inches (150 cm) with 18-inch (46-cm) single-grouser shoes; the Low Ground Pressure (LGP) configuration has a 66-inch (168-cm) track gauge with 25-inch (64-cm) single-grouser shoes. Standard configuration tractors have a CFN or HYD serial number prefix. LGP configuration tractors have an FDC or TLX prefix.

Production of CFN and FDC ended in 2003. They were replaced by the HYD and TLX units, which have turbocharged engines. Based on data from the sales database of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, it is estimated that more than 400 Caterpillar D4G crawler tractors have been produced.
