The Caterpillar CT681 Dump Truck in 1:50th scale was announced and planned to be released by Diecast Masters in 2016 with #85513. But.........

...........because Caterpillar announced in a worldwide press release on February 26th, 2016 to end the development and production of its Caterpillar Truck program in 1:1, both Caterpillar CT681 Dump Truck and Caterpillar CT681 Concrete Mixer in 1:50th scale were never produced by Diecast Masters.

What remained were my few quick taken snap photos from the Spielwarenmesse and the certainty that a small number of hand samples had been submitted to Caterpillar for approval.

So you can understand it was a HUGE surprise when seven years a fellow collector has given me two of these prototypes and I am therefore very privileged that this has been awarded to me.
