The Caterpillar 594H Pipelayer in 1:50th scale is a custom made model.

Custom scale model builder Ad Gevers has again finished a unique project: building a Caterpillar 594H Pipelayer by using as donor model the Conrad Caterpillar 594 Pipelayer in 1:50th scale.

At the 22e Modelshow Europe]22nd Modelshow Europe, Saturday March 16, 2013 on flowerauction "Plantion" in the Netherlands, the model was shown for the first to the general public.

It the "Making of..." we show how this custom model is been achieved. Ad Gevers, shares his building skills through the photos with little notes guiding us in the construction process. Gradually it shows the making of a unique model of the Caterpillar 594H Pipelayer.

Caterpillar 594H Pipelayer

The Caterpillar 594H Pipelayer was introduced in 1974 and was manufactured only in America. The machine has a Caterpillar D353TA, six cylinder diesel engine that produces 410 flywheel HP. 90,700 kg lifting capacity.

The 594H was given a 96V serial number prefix. Production ceased in 1986 The Caterpillar 594H was not replaced by a 594 series successor.
