The Caterpillar 950 Wheel Loader was introduced in 1964 in America and later also produced in Canada, Japan and Belgium. The first 950 had a Caterpillar D330 engine producing 125 flywheel horsepower (FWHP) starting a series which lead from 950B, 950E, 950F, 950F Serie II, 950G, 950G Serie II, 950H and since 2011 todays latest Caterpillar 950K.
At present, the Caterpillar 950K Wheel Loader is the flagship of the 950 family. Powered by a Caterpillar C7.1 ACERT Engine good for 211 hp, an operating weight of 42811.0 lb and a bucket capacity of 3.25 yd3 – 12.00 yd3 a serious piece of machinery in the class of Medium Wheel Loader made by Caterpillar.
Of the 950 Wheel Loader series are 1:50 scale models of the 950H made by Norscot and in 2014 Tonkin Replicas released the 950GC and 950K models. The Caterpillar 950H Wheel Loader is also available as a load in a set with the Kenworth W900 and Trail King low loader in Caterpillar livery being released by Norscot.
