Saturday 21th September 2024 Stichting BouwmachinesvanToen organized its third swap meeting in the BouwmachinesvanToen Museum, in Vinkel, The Netherlands.
Once again a pleasant and small-scale exchange fair, held for the first time on a Saturday with the focus on (Caterpillar) scale models and documentation (leaflets/brochures/specsheets) about earthmoving, road construction, cranes and related (heavy haulage) transport.
Diecast Masters & MiniMovers and diehard Caterpillar collector Friends Gertjan, Richard and Sander of course were present. We did meet some old friends which came from far and talked with some new ones too. And of course there was also plenty of time to stroll around the entire museum.
A first look back for all visitors and those staying at home can now be viewed on YouTube!
When I celebrated my 60th (sixty) birthday I was very surprised with a Caterpillar SIXTY custom built by Momfer Models in 1:48th scale.
As a Die-hard (Caterpillar) collector, this unique custom "Golden Oldie" Tractor scale model should not be missing from your collection! Interested?

Diehard Caterpillar scale model collector Richard showed once again a very varied part of his collection with self-built custom Caterpillar models based on Diecast Masters scale models and 3D printed Caterpillar accessories from CVS Modeltrucks.
Within our group of Caterpillar collectors are more and more builders who built various custom versions by using a 3D printer for their custom project.
I am convinced that the 3D technology, though still has a huge growing fase to go, actually is going to be payable for the custom scale model builder, with lighting fast speed, us as a collector will give the opportunity a specific scale model, you absolutely want to have in your collection can be designed and build for an acceptable price.
Fellow collector Cornelis from the Netherlands has already taken that step. He designs, prints and builds custom 3D printed Caterpillar models in 1:50 scale for himself. What is immediately striking is the excellent quality and high level of detail of his projects. More than worth a visit and admiring his latest models.
