This week CCM has announced a new scale model in their 1:48 Die-Cast series:
The Caterpillar 776 Off-Highway Truck provides dependable power to haul large loads under rugged handling conditions. Powered by a Caterpillar D348 V-12 Engine producing 870 HP at the flywheel, the Caterpillar 776 is equipped with a planetary power shift 7-speed automatic transmission is capable of top speeds up to 38 MPH. Paired with the RD160 Rear Dump Trailer, this massive haul truck weighs 224,5000 lbs., measures just over 49’ long, nearly 20’ wide, and stands 18’ tall. This unique combination increased the payload capacity of the 776 to 160 tons and resulted in better load distribution, longer tire life, and a significant savings in fuel, maintenance, and operating costs.
The frame-mounted, yoke-type hitch with a kingpin base allows for two-way oscillation, helping to relieve stresses to the hitch area over uneven ground. The Caterpillar 776 also features completely sealed, oil-cooled disc brakes, and an all steel ROPS (Rollover Protective Structure) sound-suppressed cab.
Specification highlights:
The Caterpillar 776 Tractor equipped with an RD160 rear dump trailer made by Classic Construction Models will feature tons of details like; Hydraulic lines, Grab & handrails, Lights and mirrors, Ladders, Warning & safety labels, Opening doors to detailed operator’s cab which provide with instrumentation, Control levers and Foot pedals.
