Recently I received this scale model and now I finally found the time to photograph this latest addition in my collection:

• Morooka MST-2200VDR Rubber track Crawler Carrier Dumper

The Japaneese company Morooka Co., Ltd. is established in 1958 and has made a name world wide as the manufacturer of rubber crawler carriers with HST drive system for the field of construction, forestry, environment and agriculture.

The U.S built Morooka MST-2200VDR Rubber track Crawler Carrier has also been built using Caterpillar components such as an original Caterpillar heated and air conditioned ROPS-certified cabin and the Caterpillar C7.1 T4 final engine Engine providing 250hp and thus forms the basis for their Multi-Purpose Rubber Track Carrier which easily handles a maximum payload and has demonstrated its versatility on pipelines, construction sites and a host of other applications.

Inquiries learned that Morooka does not sell this, under their own name produced, scale model in 1:50th scale of the Morooka MST-2200VDR Rubber track Crawler Carrier Dumper to collectors. Even after using my own network and making contact with the Morooka organisation both within Japan and the USA and Dealers worldwide, despite all their efforts nobody was able to help me. Finally through Instagram I came into contact with fellow collector Mitsu from Japan who had the model for sale. All though is was not a cheap deal I could not let it go.

My first impression: The Morooka MST-2200VDR Rubber track Crawler Carrier Dumper is certainly not the most detailed scale model in my collection but because it represents a unique piece of earthmoving equipment and captures the essential functionalty from the machine so it is definitely a very welcome addition to my PoweredbyCAT series.
