50 years NAMAC

My father was an avid collector of model cars and took me early along to collect boot fairs like the NAMAC and I discovered quickly that the machines where I worked with, such as Caterpillar 245, DJB 275, Caterpillar Athey 621 to make a few to mention, also in 1:50 scale models could be found.

For me - in retrospect - the starting point for an extensive collection of Caterpillar scale models which is still growing every day.

For over 25 years organizes the NAMAC six times per year a swapmeeting for scalemodels, books and leaflets. "Houten" (as it is called named after the town where the meeting is held) covers more than one kilometer long tables and is with more than 4000 visitors the largest in Europe. Attracting dealers from the Netherlands, Belgium, Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic and some other European countries are present here, so something for every collector to find. The fair is open from 10.00 am to 15.00 pm.

In addition, the NAMAC releases six times a year, the full color magazine of the NAMAC, "Auto in Miniatuur". Every issue contains a number of regular columns, where the news miniature car area being treated. Furthermore, more and focus on another specific area of the hobby, such as collecting certain car brands, types and building descriptions. Naturally completed with all the latest news in detail. "Auto in Miniatuur" is also available from bookshops and in the kiosk.

The past two years the Jubilee Committee has done a huge mountain of work of organizing the NAMAC Jubilee Exhibition, the most beautiful miniature car exhibition ever held in the Netherlands to mark the 50th anniversary of the NAMAC.

The organization is perfectly laid a beautiful comprehensive picture of the width of the miniature car hobby and the activities within the NAMAC. You can read more about in their full color magazine "Auto in Miniatuur" number 3-2015 and in the Jubilee Exhibition catalog.

The NAMAC Jubilee Exhibition will be held from 1st July to August 9th 2015, in one of the world's finest car museums: the Louwman Museum in The Hague, The Netherlands.
