This week I received from Roy Ferguson Sales in America this latest addition in my collection made by Classic Construction Models (CCM) and today I was able to take it to the photo set:
Introduced in 1980 as a replacement to the Caterpillar D9H, the Caterpillar D9L Track-Dozer was produced within the USA under serial number #14Y. Features a 3412 Turbocharged Diesel engine producing 460HP at 1,900RPM. Featuring a 3-speed planetary Power Shift Transmission, the D9L is capable of top forward speeds of 7.7 MPH and up to 9.6 MPH in reverse. This machine was also the first Caterpillar D9 to utilize the raised final drive sprocket, which was originally introduced on the Caterpillar D10, to prevent impact loading and increase the life of the power train.
This die-cast scale model Caterpillar D9L Dozer with Multi-Shank Ripper is made in a limited edition of only 600 pieces in 2019 by CCM in scale 1:48 The scale model is packaged in a deluxe gift box and comes with a signed certificate. I'm the happy collector with in possession #422.
All aspects of the Caterpillar D9L Dozer with Multi-Shank Ripper are captured just like the 1:1 version and to the usual level of CCM's exacting detail, including hydraulic lines and full sight on the engine compartment. The Cabin doors can be opened and the interior with Operator’s Working Station is very detailed. The Operator only has to start the machine! Retail Price: $219.95 and shipping cost.
My first impression: a very complete scale model a nice addition in my Caterpillar D9L Dozer series. More than well worth the wait! Together with his four brothers this is a must have for every Caterpillar collector.
Enjoy the first photos! Curious for more? I have added the complete review with more pictures from the model, machine in 1:1 and background information in the category Dozers.
