• 980C Wheel Loader

The Caterpillar 980C Wheel Loader was introduced in 1979 and replaced the 980B version and was only produced in the USA. Power for this machine comes from the Caterpillar 3406 four-stroke-cycle diesel engine producing 270 hp. With a maximum bucket capacity of 5.25 yd3 delivering a payload of 15.400lb per pass.

• Operational Weight: 58.000lb
• Bucket Capacity (Heaped 2:1): 5.25yd3

The development of the prototype

Using photos of the real machine and with help from the original spec sheets of the manufacturer for the exact dimensions a first prototype is hand build from scratch.

Building the prototype

When the prototype is succesfully developed the very first resin scale model can be casted from the molds and after the required adjustments and improvents carefully put together in the first built prototype.

This knock out model of the 980C Wheel Loader will be available in a “Old Highway Yellow” Civil version in very limited numbers.
