Caterpillar 325 Excavator

The first Caterpillar 325 Excavator was introduced in 1991 as a replacement for the Caterpillar 225D. From the early 1990’s, Caterpillar gradually progressed to the 3 Series Model Numbering for its full range of Hydraulic Excavators. The Caterpillar 325 Hydraulic Excavator was produced in Belgium, USA and Japan. The 325 was powered by a Caterpillar 3116 turbocharged engine good for 168.0 hp and a bucket capacity 2.5 yd3.

The 325 (L, LN) were given a 2SK, 2SL, 3LL, 7LJ, 9SG or 9ZK (Belgium); 2JK, 6RM, 7LM, 7TG, 8NK or 8YK (USA); 5WK, 6KK, 7CJ, 8JG, 8NL or 9KL (Japan) serial number prefix. Production ended in 1995 when the 325 was replaced by the Caterpillar 325B.
