The Caterpillar 325D REGA Excavator was introduced in 2006 and produced in Japan, USA, Belgium and China. The 325D was powered by a Caterpillar C7 ACERT Diesel engine good for 203.0 hp and an empty operating weight of 64.460 lb and a bucket capacity 2.6 yd3. The 325D was also available in a Material Handler version with a modified undercarriage, carbody and a new operator station.

The 325D (L, LN) were given a DAP, KDG, PEH, or SCR (Japan); A3R or RJK (USA); GBR, GPB, MCL, PAL, PKE, or T2S (Belgium); or DBH or KBE (China) serial number prefix. Production ended in 2009 when the 325D was replaced and renumbered into the Caterpillar 329D.
