Tim Mitchell, who works as Global Sales and Marketing Manager at Elphinstone Pty Ltd in Tasmania in his daily life, has also been active for many years as a very experienced custom model builder. His focus is mainly on building Caterpillar Dozers and Off-HighwayTrucks in 1:50 scale, especially the largest machines, which are always exact replicas of existing 1:1 machines in company colours.

His most recent project was realized at the special request of Terra Cat for their client OceanaGold Corporation:

• Caterpillar 789C Mining Truck DT231 and the Caterpillar 789 "Next Gen" Mining Truck DT254 in OceanaGold livery

I am very happy and honored that on behalf of Tim I can share the complete realization of his project with you in a Making-of so that you can see for yourself from the many photos that Tim did not rush into this and used all his model building knowledge and even 3D techniques to achieve the end result below.
